As the audience follows the music to enter the gallery, their gaze is met with a projection of the experimental, digitally drawn animation titled You build a home in my mind (2023), creating an immersive experience through repetition and transitions that capture cityscapes appearing and disappearing like wind. In You build a home in my mind , objects from from childhood, including the boat of memories, climbing frames, slides, and basketball courts, are constantly spinning, scattering, and disappearing, sometimes circling and other times passing by, while the images of the streetscape of Hong Kong is submerged in the torrent of memories. In their fleetingness, the fragments of the city are pieced together to create an intertwined and subtle narrative, drawing the viewer into searching for the memories it carries. As the boat navigates between memory and dream, resembling a journey of constant loss and persistent search, each scene appears slightly different when they reappear, alluding to the repetitiveness and uncertainty of life.
